Kids Yoga

Sundays 9 a.m. – 10:15 Ages 4-8   Adult Flow Class is at same time

Moms n’ Dads bring your kids to Kids Yoga! It is a great way to build self-respect and to develop confidence, concentration and reduce stress (yes, even kids have stress).  Because children sometimes encounter emotional, social, and physical challenges or conflicts, a dedicated and intentional yoga practice that includes breathing techniques, focus, and physical postures can be a very valuable tool in their lives.

The Kids Yoga teacher will guide them through various kid-friendly yoga poses and breathing techniques that supporttheir muscle strength and flexibility, as well as promote calmness.  Additionally, they will learn breathing and focusing techniques; often arts and crafts are included in class teachings as well.   And remember…your child’s first yoga class is FREE!

Parents may notice how yoga benefits their kids, but the best judges are the kids themselves. One mom tells her story:

” Sometimes moms lose their cool, (we are human too) and one day when I was not happy with something my son had done and didn’t know what to do. I looked over at my son, who then put his hands together in prayer position in front of his heart, he bowed to me and said, “Namaste.” (The good in me greets the good in you). I knew that Kids Yoga was making a difference!”   -Kids Yoga Mom

Adult classes are offered in the downstairs yoga room while your children take yoga in our upstairs studio. FreeSpirit Yoga understands the value of parents getting their yoga in too! This is a great family outing that benefits everyone. Additionally, a family can share a yoga series (except unlimited series)!

Our Kids Yoga Teacher – Crystal

In 1997, Crystal, eRYT200, took her first yoga class at an Ashram in Denton, Texas where she studied Kundalini open eye meditation. Growing up as a dancer, she found that the asana practice took her to her roots. After her first yoga retreat where she learned how to use a neti pot and was introduced to head stands, Crystal began a journey that would include many more retreats. Crystal is both serious and fun when she teaches kids yoga.  She brings lightheartedness and also loving boundaries to her classes where the kids can feel safe to be their authentic selves and practice yoga with ease and joy.
